Disney’s, The Acolyte, is getting utterly wrecked online.

But that’s hasn’t stopped media outlets from gaslighting the support for it.

Let’s take Men’s Journal and their article, “TRAILER: Star Wars: The Acolyte Sends Fans Into Frenzy”, writing, “Disney has released the debut trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte, and fans are loving it.”  It’s sending Star Wars fans into a frenzy all right.  It’s just in the complete opposite way Men’s Journal would have you think.

It’s getting “Ratioed” to shit all across the Internet.  If you’re aware what the term means, it’s is a slang term that describes a post that receives more negative or critical responses than positive engagement.

Let’s look at the trailer’s likes vs dislikes on Disney’s official Star Wars YouTube Channel:

How about on Entertainment Tonight’s YouTube Channel:

Yea, it’s sending Star Wars fans into a frenzy alright.  A frenzy of negative engagement resulting in it getting ratioed in a massive way.

The Angry Joe Show, a YouTube channel that has 3.29M subs has their review.  If you don’t follow them, Joe hates all the “woke” review bombing of films and gives a pretty good break down the trailer.  It did not seem like the three were impressed.  They also make a good point, The Acolyte was supposed to be a series about the dark side of the force, which the trailer makes it seem like that’s not the case.  Here is their review:

Then you have The Critical Drinker, a YouTube critic that is absolutely done with wokeness, and as he refers to it, movies trying to further “The Message!”

Everybody should try to play his game of “Find the White Guy.”  I counted one.

This type of perception about the destruction of the role of the male hero, a hallmark of the original Star Wars movies, in recent Star Wars works leads to this clever alternative trailer for the Acolytes:

There has been this long running debate if Disney’s adherence to DEI and obtaining a high ESG score is tainting the Star Wars IP.  If Star Wars is using their largest and most successful IP to further the “girl boss” and the LGBTQ message.  I find it hard to argue that they are not.

Especially when you see comments like this from Leslye Headlan, the series showrunner.

For those of you that don’t know, Leslye Headland’s claim to fame was being Harvey Weinstein’s assistance.  You know, the guy serving 23 years in prison for one count of criminal sexual assault in the first degree and one count of rape in the third degree.

She’s also known for producing a total of 10 whole TV Series and shorts, none of which were rated over an eight on IMDb.  I guess Disney decided her wealth of experience, previous success . . . and being a gay female would help the Star Wars brand that Disney is slowly, errrr quickly, destroying.

Let’s look at some of the best Tweets.  No, they are not Xs, they are still Tweets.

Once again, nice job Disney.  But remember, it’s not that Disney is killing Star Wars, it’s just the toxic “fandom”.  Well, I would argue that if Star Wars “fandom”, you know it’s fans, hates the shit you’re putting out, STOP IT.
