There is a strange weather phenomena in the area around Phoenix, AZ where I live. A large number of summer monsoon storms wrap around the area. Two miles in any direction from my home gets utterly destroyed by storms, and our neighborhood gets nothing. Here is such a video with a radar overlay showing this in action.
